A problematic excursion

In a group of 63 hikers consisting of fathers, mothers and children, the number of children is twice that of adults, and in the group of adults there are twice as many women as men.

How many of the 63 hikers are adult men?

Solution

Of the 63 hikers only 7 are men, therefore there will be 14 women (double) that total 21 adults in total and 42 children (double that adults) and in total they will be 7 + 14 + 42 = 63.
