A pentomino is a type of polyomino that consists of a geometric figure composed of five squares joined by its sides. There are twelve possible pentominoes from five squares, which are identified by similarity with different letters of the alphabet. The pentominoes obtained from others by axial symmetry or by rotation do not count as a different pentomino. The following image shows all possible ways:
